Dr. Joyous Pickstock is a 1986 graduate of Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry, Nashville Tennessee.  In 1994, She received her specialty training in Dental Public Health from The University of London where she obtained her Master of Science Degree(MSc.).                                 

Dr. Pickstock, has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. She currently holds the post of Consultant in Public Health Dentistry within The Ministry of Health and holds the distinction of being the first Bahamian female dentist employed with the Government service. She also conducts private practice at Faith Dental Centre, Nassau.

She has been involved in organized dentistry in The Bahamas since 1986 and has held every position within The Bahamas Dental Association. Currently she serves as Treasurer. In addition to her involvement in the local dental association, Dr. Pickstock has been directly involved in organized dentistry both Regionally and Internationally. Presently she holds the position of Treasurer of The Caribbean Atlantic Regional Dental Association(CARDA), and has also served as this organization’s President and Vice President. Additionally, she has held the position of Regional Vice President of The Commonwealth Dental Association for over nine years, resigning from this position in December 2006. Dr. Pickstock, now serves as National Secretary Bahamas for the International Dental Federation(FDI).
